Creating Art for the Human Condition

About the Artist

Holly Ferguson is a high school art teacher at J. L. Mann High School in Greenville, South Carolina. She focuses primarily on conceptual, mixed media sculpture work. Her art focuses on childhood and lived experiences, as well as global lived experiences. Regarding her art, she says, "I wish to create art that speaks to the soul of my contemporaries. Because of the interconnected nature of the world we live in, our lived experiences are extremely similar. I hope my creations are able to bring us together by uniting these lived experiences".

Artist Statement:

Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated by creating. I've always felt a connection to paper, pen, anything I could get my hands on. I find the most comfort in art that requires love. Art is a responsibility, and we as artists must work and toil over the message we are attempting to create.
